Get glowing skin: 3 genius ways to eat more veggies every day

One of the keys for radiant skin is a balanced diet that includes lots of vegetables. Here are three ways to get more veggies in your diet that go beyond roasting and steaming!

Deep down you know that you should always get the recommended 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day for glowing skin. However, it can be a challenge to figure out how to meet that goal, and keep your meals interesting at the same time. Below are three fun ideas that will help you succeed and keep your skin looking radiant!

Spiralize your vegetables

If you’re a healthy eater then we’re sure you’ve seen plenty of #zoodles (zucchini noodles) on your Instagram feed. Spiralizing is a technique where you use a special tool to create pasta-like strands of vegetables: carrots, squash, sweet potato, beets, zucchini…the list goes on and on! Lightly cook your spiralized veggies for a more authentic pasta feel and serve them up with your favorite sauce, or add them to a Buddha bowl. You can also combine them with real noodles to make your dish more filling, like in the recipe below.

Spiralized veggie thai noodle bowl

Ingredients you need: Zucchini, carrots, cabbage, shrimp, peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey and sesame oil

Glowing skin tip: Keep the spiralized "noodles" raw once in a while, as they contain more nutrients in this form, thus providing you with more skin benefits!

Turn your vegetables into pizza crust

Believe it or not, veggies make a great pizza crust (just squeeze excess water out of them before making the crust). It’s a wonderful low-carb gluten-free option to flour bases, and it’s also more nutritious! Spread a vegetable pesto on top, pop on some sliced mushrooms, bell peppers and cherry tomatoes (both classified as fruits), and you’ve got a delicious meal that’s positively packed with fruits and veggies.

Broccoli pesto cauliflower pizza

Ingredients you need: broccoli, tahini, cumin powder, garlic, salt, cauliflower, vegetables of your choice

Glowing skin tip: While cauliflower is one of the most common pizza crusts, you can also use a leafy-greens base like spinach, as it contains lots of antioxidants to fight free radicals. When coupled with a great anti-aging daily face cream like Blue Therapy Multi-Defender SPF25, your skin will stay youthful-looking for years to come!

Use leftover vegetables to make a quiche

One of the best (and easiest) ways to get more vegetables into your diet is to combine lots of them together to make a quiche. Whisk together a few eggs, add a few dashes of your favorite spices, throw in a few handfuls of your favorite vegetables and you're on your way to a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. Serve with a side salad for an extra dose of veggies.

Spinach bacon and cheese quiche with a sweet potato crust

Ingredients you need: Sweet potatoes, eggs, flour, bacon, green onions, milk, cheese of your choice, spinach, leftover vegetables, like mushrooms

Glowing skin tip: Try to use seasonal vegetables in your quiche. They are positively brimming with vitamins and nutrients which will make complexion look positively radiant! Use tinted facial oil like Liquid Glow Skin Best to boost your skin’s glow further.

Incorporating more vegetables in your diet and adopting a good daily skincare routine will keep your complexion looking gorgeous day after day! Last tip: save your vegetable peels, as they contain tons of micronutrients which are great for your skin.
